- Why turn a book back into a PDF?
- Because a PDF is what you can print, attach and archive. Reading is not the reason; handing the text to someone, marking it up on paper, or filing a fixed copy is. An EPUB is a good reading format and an awkward document.
- Will the cover, images and styling come through?
- Yes. The cover, the pictures inside the book, headings, bold and italic, colors and the book's own spacing are kept, and each chapter starts on a new page. Layout that sets boxes side by side flows into one column, and the book's embedded fonts are replaced with a matching serif or sans font.
- Are the chapters in the right order?
- They follow the order the book declares in its own spine, not the alphabetical order of the files inside it. That distinction matters: a book’s files are often named in the order they were written, which is not the order they are read in.
