How we handle your files
The short version: for most tools we never receive your file at all.
Most tools never upload anything
Merging, splitting, rotating, watermarking and the rest run as code without transmission. The file is read from your disk into memory without ever reaching us and the result is written straight back to your downloads. It does not travel over the network, so there is nothing for us to store, leak or hand over.
The two exceptions, stated plainly
Two features do reach our servers. A signature request stores an encrypted copy of the document you send until the request is finished, because it has to reach the people you invite. The web-page-to-PDF converter fetches the address you give it from our side; it never receives a file from you. Every other tool — including the ones people assume need a server: encryption, OCR, and conversion between formats — runs without transmitting your document.
No tracking, no profile
You do not need to sign up to use anything here, so we do not need to know who you are. We do not sell data and we do not build advertising profiles.
What we do not claim
We are not going to put certification badges on this page that we have not earned. As the product grows we will pursue formal audits, and when we have them we will say exactly which ones and link the reports.
