Fill a form, or turn a flat one into a form other people can fill — without a subscription.
What is different here
If a PDF already has form fields, open it and type into them. If it does not — the common case, a printed form someone scanned — draw the boxes yourself and get back a real fillable PDF.
What you place is exactly what you get. We do not guess where the lines are, because a field guessed slightly wrong looks fine on screen and only shows up as a problem after you have sent the form.
The document is not uploaded, so a form containing your address, your salary or your medical history stays where it started.
Where a hosted form service is still the right choice
If you send a form to many people and need the answers to come back to you, collected in one place, that needs a server. Same for a shared library of templates your whole team pulls from, and for a record of who submitted what.
We do not have any of that. Our forms are files: you make one, you send it, and what comes back is a filled file rather than a row in a table.
For a team running intake at volume, the hosted service earns its price.
What you can do right now
Fill any existing PDF form and lock it afterwards so the values cannot be changed. Create a fillable form from a flat document with text boxes and checkboxes. Sign, redact, merge the result with other pages, and convert it.
Also worth knowing: a bulk tool turns a spreadsheet into one PDF per row, which is often what people actually want when they reach for a form service.
How to check any of this yourself
Do not take our word for it, and do not take theirs. These four checks take a minute each and work on any online PDF tool, including this one.
- Open the network tab in developer tools, then run the tool. If your file is being uploaded, you will see it leave. Here, for tools that run in your browser, you will see the page load its own code and nothing carrying your file.
- Turn off your network and run the tool again. If it still works, the processing was never happening on a server.
- Read the privacy page and look for how long files are kept. A service that stores your file will say so, usually with a number of hours.
- Try a file larger than the free limit. Where a limit exists, it usually exists because every file costs the service money.
