Rental application: documents for a landlord, ready to send

Landlords ask for a lot: an application, pay stubs, bank statements, ID, then a lease to sign. Send exactly what they need — in one file, with everything they did not ask for blacked out.

Step by step

  1. Fill in the rental application on screen if it is a fillable PDF; if it is not, type onto the page.

  2. Scan pay stubs, ID and references with your phone’s camera.

  3. Black out what the landlord has not asked for, such as full account numbers. It is removed from the file, not just covered.
