This agreement

By using DocuGrip you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service. That is the whole of it.

DocuGrip is operated by Simulator Arts LLC. In this document "we" means that company.

What the service is

DocuGrip provides tools for working with PDF files. Most never transmit your document; a few run on our servers. Which is which is stated on each tool’s page.

We may add, change or remove tools. If a tool you rely on is going away we will try to say so in advance, but we cannot promise that any particular tool will exist forever.

Signature requests work differently, because the document has to reach the people you invite: it is stored with us in encrypted form until the request is finished, as the privacy policy describes.

Your files stay yours

You keep every right you had in the documents you process here. We claim no ownership, no licence to use them, and no right to keep them.

You are responsible for having the right to process the files you upload. Do not use these tools on documents you are not allowed to handle.

When you send a document for signature, you allow us to store its encrypted copy and to deliver the signing links, for the time the privacy policy describes and only so that the request can be completed. You confirm that you have the right to share the document with the people you invite and that they expect to receive it.

Acceptable use

Do not use DocuGrip to process material that is illegal where you are or where we operate, to infringe someone else’s rights, or to produce documents intended to deceive — forged identity papers, falsified records, fake invoices.

Do not attack the service: no attempts to break isolation between jobs, no automated flooding, no probing for vulnerabilities outside a good-faith security report to security@docugrip.com.

Do not use signature requests to send unsolicited or misleading messages. Links are not allowed in a request, and we may close a request that is used for abuse.

We may block access that breaks these rules, without notice where the harm is immediate.

Free and paid

The free tier is free, without a watermark, and we intend to keep it that way. It has a daily allowance so that one user cannot exhaust what everyone else needs.

Paid plans are billed as described on the pricing page. One-time passes end when their period ends and do not renew. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds and disputes have their own page, and it is short.

No warranty

The service is provided as it is. We work hard on correctness, but we cannot guarantee that every tool produces a perfect result on every file, that the site is always available, or that a conversion preserves every detail of a complex document.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights that consumer law gives you where you live — for example the statutory guarantees for digital content and services in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Australia. Where these terms and those rights conflict, those rights apply.

Keep your own copy of anything that matters. Do not use DocuGrip as the only place a document exists.

A DocuGrip signature is a simple electronic signature with an activity record. Whether that is enough for a particular document depends on the law that applies to it: most everyday agreements can be signed this way, but some documents, in some countries, need a handwritten, witnessed or qualified signature. Checking that is your responsibility, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Download the signed PDF when a request is complete: its encrypted copy is deleted after the retention period and cannot be recovered.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost data, lost time — arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes, ending, and law

We may update these terms. For a material change we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect and show the new date on this page. If you have a subscription and do not accept the change, you can cancel before it applies; otherwise, continuing to use the service after that date means accepting it.

You can stop using DocuGrip at any time. We can end access for a user who breaks these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operating company is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia or another country whose mandatory consumer rules apply whatever a contract chooses, you keep the protection of those rules and can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

Copyright and abuse: documents processed with the tools are never on our servers, so there is nothing of yours there to take down. A signature request keeps an encrypted copy that only its sender and the people invited can open; if you believe one is being used to infringe your rights or to deceive people, write to hello@docugrip.com with the request link and we will review it. If you believe something we do publish — a page, an image, a form template — infringes your rights, write to hello@docugrip.com with the work, where it appears on this site, and your contact details, and we will review it and remove it where the claim holds.

You may not use the service in breach of the export control and sanctions laws that apply to you or to us.

You must be at least 13 to use DocuGrip, and old enough to make a binding contract where you live — or have a parent or guardian’s permission — to buy a plan.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, together with the privacy policy, the licence and the refunds page, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. Not enforcing a term straight away does not waive it. We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over the service; you may not transfer them without our agreement.
