How to do it
Add your file
Add the PDF you want as an editable document. It works best on a PDF that was made from a document in the first place — a file exported from Word converts far more cleanly than a photograph of a page.
Set it up the way you want
The defaults suit most documents: images stay in place, and headings and lists are detected from the text. Paragraphs, two-column pages, running headers and page numbers are handled for you, and the .docx opens in Word, Pages, LibreOffice and Google Docs.

Questions about PDF to Word
- Will the layout look exactly the same?
- Close, but not identical. You get flowing, editable text — real paragraphs instead of a hard return at the end of every line — with headings, lists, fonts and the images where they were. A PDF records where things are printed, not the structure behind them, so tables arrive as text rather than cells and exact spacing is rebuilt by inference.
- Can it convert a scanned PDF?
- A scan has no text in it — only a picture of text. Scanned pages are read with text recognition in the language you pick under Scanned pages (English unless you change it), so the Word file gets real, editable words. Pick the document’s language, because the wrong one turns accented letters into noise, and proofread names and numbers.
- Is my document uploaded to convert it?
- No. The PDF is read and the Word file is built without an upload. Nothing is transmitted, which for a contract or a CV is the whole point.
