Questions about Excel to PDF
- Will it look exactly like my spreadsheet?
- The data will be right; the styling is simplified. Conditional formatting, charts and elaborate cell styling do not survive, because what is rebuilt is the content and its structure rather than the appearance of a specific spreadsheet application.
- What happens to a very wide sheet?
- It is laid out across pages rather than shrunk until it is unreadable. A sheet with fifty columns will span several pages wide, which is usually what you want over a page nobody can read.
- Are my figures uploaded?
- No. The spreadsheet is parsed and the PDF is written without leaving the page. Payroll and pricing data are never transmitted.
