What is different here
Create an invoice or a CV from a template, turn a flat PDF into a fillable form, fill it in, sign it, merge it with something else, and convert it to whatever you need. All of it in the browser, none of it uploaded.
Nobody needs an account to start, so there is nothing to set up for a colleague who only needs to fill in and sign a form. A group that wants the daily cap lifted for everyone can share a Team plan, priced per seat.
Where PandaDoc is still the right choice
PandaDoc is not really a PDF tool, it is a proposal pipeline. It tells you that a prospect opened your quote at 9am, read page four twice, and did not reach the pricing page.
That kind of tracking needs a server holding the document and watching who touches it. The tools deliberately do not have that — the same design that keeps your file private also makes it impossible to watch anyone read it. Signature requests record only when each signer opened and signed, never what they read or for how long.
If your work is sales and the analytics are the point, use the tool built for it. If your work is producing the document itself, this does that part for free.

How to check any of this yourself
Do not take our word for it, and do not take theirs. These four checks take a minute each and work on any online PDF tool, including this one.
- Open the network tab in developer tools, then run the tool. If your file is being uploaded, you will see it leave. Here, for tools that run in your browser, you will see the page load its own code and nothing carrying your file.
- Turn off your network and run the tool again. If it still works, the processing was never happening on a server.
- Read the privacy page and look for how long files are kept. A service that stores your file will say so, usually with a number of hours.
- Try a file larger than the free limit. Where a limit exists, it usually exists because every file costs the service money.
