Questions about Word & Excel viewer
- Is this the same as opening it in Word?
- No, and the page says so above the document rather than below it. You get the content: what it says, under which heading, in which table. You do not get the page layout — margins, tab stops, headers, footers, footnotes. For a faithful copy you still need Word, or a PDF exported from it.
- Why is PowerPoint missing?
- Because a slide deck is not a stream of text but a collection of positioned boxes, each with coordinates, layers and rotation. We could pull out a readable list of the words, but that is not the presentation — and calling that a PowerPoint viewer would mislead you. When we can show slides properly, it will appear here.
- Is my document uploaded?
- No. The file is unzipped and read without being transmitted, the same way every other tool on this site works. That matters for the documents people usually need this for: contracts, payslips and reports sent by someone who assumed you had Office.
