Questions about PDF to speech
- Where does the voice come from?
- From your operating system, through your browser. That is why the list of voices differs between a Mac, a Windows machine and a phone — and why the text never has to be sent to a speech service to be read.
- My language is not in the list.
- Then your system has no voice installed for it, and we say so rather than reading your document in the wrong accent. Adding the language in your operating system settings gives you a proper voice.
- Can I download the audio?
- No. The browser speaks the text rather than producing an audio file, so there is nothing to save. If you need an audio file, that needs a different kind of tool.
