Good to know

- One at a time
- Transmission
- None — nothing is uploaded.
Chain it
Run this tool and the next one back to back — nothing to download in between.
How to do it
- 1
Add your file
Add the document you are about to send somewhere. Metadata is the part nobody looks at and everyone forgets is there.
- 2
Set it up the way you want
Nothing to set. The author, title, producer, creation dates and the software that made the file are all cleared.
- 3
Download the result
Download the cleaned copy. The pages look identical; what changed is the part your reader never showed you.
Questions about Remove PDF metadata
- What is actually in the metadata?
- Usually your name, your organisation, the software you used, and when the file was created and last edited. On a CV, a tender or a blind academic submission, any of those can say more than you intended.
- Does this make the document fully anonymous?
- No, and this is the important part. Embedded images carry their own metadata, and the file name travels with the document too. For a blind submission, clear the properties here, then check what is left and rename the file before sending.
- Will it change how the document looks?
- No. Metadata is not drawn on the page. Every page renders exactly as before.
