- How do I open an RTF file on a phone?
- Convert it here and open the PDF instead. Phones and tablets rarely display RTF well, but every one of them opens a PDF, and the conversion needs no app.
- Are special characters kept?
- Yes. Code pages and Unicode escapes inside the RTF are decoded, so Turkish, German, French and other accented letters come through exactly as they were typed.
- What is not converted?
- Headers, footers, comments and the exact fonts are not reproduced, and Windows metafile drawings (WMF, EMF) are left out with a note. The text, its formatting, links, PNG and JPEG pictures, tables and footnotes all come through.
