Questions about XPS to PDF
- What is the difference between XPS and OXPS?
- OXPS is the standardized version Windows 8 and later save by default. The two are built the same way, and both convert here.
- Will the text still be searchable?
- Yes. The fonts inside the XPS file are embedded in the PDF, so you can search, select and copy the text — including right-to-left scripts such as Arabic.
- Why does the notice say something was simplified?
- A few rarely used XPS features — gradient fills, visual brushes, opacity masks, or images in HD Photo format — are not reproduced exactly. The notice counts them so you know to check those spots.
