- How is this different from a watermark?
- A watermark sits in the middle of the page, tilted and faint, on every page, and says "this copy is not official". A stamp sits in a corner, straight and readable, on the pages you choose, and says approved, received or paid. Different jobs, so they are different tools.
- And how is it different from adding an image?
- Add image puts one picture in one box that you draw yourself. Stamp puts the same mark in the same place across hundreds of pages at once. If you are stamping a whole file, this is the tool that will not take an afternoon.
- Can I stamp only some pages?
- Yes, and it is the usual case. Approval marks belong on a cover page, received stamps on the first page, and a logo often on every page except the first. Type the page numbers and the rest are left alone.
