Chain it
Run this tool and the next one back to back — nothing to download in between.
How to do it
- 1
Add your file
Add the document you are reviewing. This is for marking up someone else’s work, or your own before it goes out.
- 2
Set it up the way you want
Pick a pen and mark the page. Draw freehand, point with an arrow, or leave a note where a comment belongs. Switching pens keeps everything you have already placed.
- 3
Download the result
Download the annotated file. The marks are drawn into the pages, so they show up for anyone who opens it — not only in a reader that supports comments.
Questions about Annotate PDF
- Will the recipient definitely see my marks?
- Yes. Comment annotations in many tools live in a separate layer that some readers hide or ignore. Here the marks are drawn into the page content itself, so they are visible everywhere the document is.
- Can I remove a mark afterwards?
- Before you download, yes — remove anything from the list. After downloading, no: the marks are part of the page. Keep your unmarked original if you might need a clean copy.
- Can I use this to hide something?
- No, and please do not try. A black box drawn over text leaves the text underneath, selectable and copyable. To actually remove content, use Redact — that is what it exists for.
