Questions about Add text to PDF
- Why can I not just click and type anywhere?
- Because a PDF has no concept of a cursor position or a paragraph. Text lives at fixed coordinates, so you tell the tool where it goes by drawing the box. That is also why long text does not wrap onto the next page.
- Which font is used?
- A font that is embedded into the file, so it looks the same everywhere. It covers Latin, Turkish, Spanish, German and Arabic characters; if you paste a character it cannot draw, the tool says so rather than silently substituting a different glyph.
- Is this the right tool for filling in a form?
