How to do it

Add the PDF you need to write on — a form without fields, a document that needs a note, a page missing a date.
Set it up the way you want
Draw a box where the text belongs, type it, and pick the font, size, color and alignment. What you see on the page is what you download. Drag the text to move it, pull its corner to resize, or pick it in the list to change it. A PDF does not reflow, so long text will not wrap itself onto a new page.

- Why can I not just click and type anywhere?
- Because a PDF has no concept of a cursor position or a paragraph. Text lives at fixed coordinates, so you tell the tool where it goes by drawing the box. That is also why long text does not wrap onto the next page.
- Which font is used?
- Pick one of seven: Sans (the default), Classic, Open Sans, Times, Merriweather, Courier or Handwriting — it looks the same in every reader. Letters a font does not have, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai, Greek or Cyrillic, are written with a matching font instead of empty boxes. Emoji and a few scripts (Bengali and Tamil, for now) cannot be drawn yet, and the tool tells you before it writes anything.
- Is this the right tool for filling in a form?
