Questions about Compare PDFs
- Does it compare the text or how the pages look?
- Both, and you choose. Text compares the wording, which is right for contracts: a document re-exported from a different program can look different on every page while saying the same thing. Drawings lays each page over its counterpart and marks what was removed in red and added in green — right for plans, drawings and scans.
- My documents are scans and nothing was found.
- A scan has no text to compare, only an image of text. Choose Drawings to compare how the pages look, or run OCR on both first and compare the text.
- Are both documents uploaded?
- No. Both are opened and compared with nothing sent anywhere. Comparing two versions of a confidential contract is exactly the case where that matters.
