How to do it

  1. 1

    Add your file

Add the PDF with the text you need to change. This works on text that is really text — if you cannot select it in a reader, run OCR first.

  2. 2

Set it up the way you want

Pick the text you want to replace and type the new wording. Keep it a similar length: a PDF has no reflow, so a much longer replacement has nowhere to go.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Download the corrected file. The change is written into the page itself, not layered on top.

Questions about Edit PDF text

Why can I not rewrite a whole paragraph?
Because a PDF is not a word processor. It stores each piece of text at a fixed position with no notion of paragraphs, so nothing reflows around an edit. This is right for fixing a date, a price or a misspelled name, and wrong for rewriting a page — for that, convert to Word.
Will the font match?
It reuses the font already embedded in the document where it can. If the original font does not contain a character you typed — an accented letter it was subset without — that character cannot be drawn with it, and the tool will tell you rather than substituting silently.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The edit is applied without transmitting the document and saved straight back to you.
