Questions about Create fillable PDF
- Why do I have to draw the boxes myself?
- Because guessing where the lines are is worse than asking. A field placed slightly off looks fine on screen and only shows up as a problem after the form has been sent back — so we do not guess. You place it, you get exactly that.
- Can I put a starting value in a field?
- Yes. Anything you type as the starting text appears in the field, and whoever fills the form can type over it. Useful for a date, a reference number or a default that is usually right.
- How is this different from Fill PDF form?
- This one creates the fields; that one types into fields that already exist. If a document tells you it has no form fields, you are in the right place here.
