Chain it
Run this tool and the next one back to back — nothing to download in between.
How to do it
- 1
Add your file
Add the PDF whose bookmarks you want to change. Any bookmarks it already has are written into the box, one per line.
- 2
Set it up the way you want
Edit the list: each line is a page number followed by a title. Add lines, rename or reorder them, or clear the box to remove every bookmark.
- 3
Download the result
Download the PDF. Readers open it with the bookmarks panel showing, so people can jump straight to each section.
Questions about Edit bookmarks
- How do I add bookmarks to a PDF?
- Write one line per bookmark, such as 1 Introduction or 12 Results, and download the PDF. You can paste a table of contents straight in and then adjust the page numbers.
- What happens to the bookmarks that were already there?
- They are replaced by exactly the list in the box. Because the box starts with the current bookmarks, editing it keeps what you want and removes only what you delete.
- Can I create nested bookmarks?
- Not yet — every bookmark is written at the top level. For long documents, a flat list with clear titles and page numbers is still a fast way to navigate.
