How to do it

  1. 1

    Add your file

Add the PDF whose pages need mirroring. This usually comes from a scan, a transfer print or a slide that came out reversed.

  2. 2

Set it up the way you want

Choose the axis: horizontal mirrors left to right, vertical turns the page upside down as a reflection.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Download the result. The pages are mirrored as drawings, at their original quality, not re-photographed.

Questions about Flip PDF

How is flipping different from rotating?
Rotating turns the page like a sheet of paper on a desk; text stays readable. Flipping mirrors it, so text reads backwards. If your scan is sideways you want Rotate; if it looks like it is in a mirror, you want this.
When would anyone want mirrored text?
Transfer printing, mostly. Iron-on transfers, screen-printing films, etching masks and window decals all have to be mirrored so they read correctly once applied. It also rescues a slide or a negative that was scanned from the wrong side.
Does the quality drop?
No. The page is transformed as vector artwork rather than rendered to pixels, so text stays text and lines stay sharp. Flip it twice and you are back exactly where you started.
