Cancel or delete a signature request
Sometimes a request has to stop: the wrong version was sent, the deal changed, or a signer’s address was mistyped. You can cancel an open request or delete any request entirely. The two do different things.

Cancelling an open request
Cancelling stops a request that has not been completed. Signing links no longer open the document, the encrypted document is deleted, and nobody else is asked to sign. The request stays in your account’s list, marked as cancelled, with its record of who had signed and when.
- Open your account and go to Signature requests, or open the request from its management link.
- Choose Cancel the request and confirm.
Deleting a request
Deleting removes the request completely: its record, its signing links and any encrypted files still stored. Use it for requests you no longer need to keep track of, in any state.
Keep a copy before you delete
After a request is completed, the signed PDF can be downloaded until its encrypted file is deleted, 30 days after completion. Download a copy from the completion email or the management view before deleting the request, because deleted files cannot be recovered.
