How to do it

  1. 1

    Add your file

Add the PDF that needs blank pages inside it. This is usually about printing, binding or leaving room to write.

  2. 2

Set it up the way you want

Say which pages should be followed by a blank one, and how many. Leave it empty and every page gets one, which is the double-sided printing case.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Download the document. The blank pages are the same size as the page in front of them, so printing does not rescale anything.

Questions about Insert blank pages

Why does the blank page match its neighbour instead of being A4?
Because a fixed A4 insert is the classic mistake. In a legal, A3 or custom-sized document, one page of a different size makes the printer scale the whole job to fit, and the finished stack no longer matches the original. Taking the size from the page before removes that whole problem.
Why would I want a blank page after every page?
Double-sided printing. A single-sided original printed two-sided ends up with unrelated pages sharing a sheet; a blank after each one keeps every original page on its own sheet front. It is also how you leave a facing page for notes.
Do the blank pages work with your other tools?
Yes, and that was a deliberate fix. A truly empty page is valid PDF but many tools cannot handle it — ours used to crash when such a document reached the long-page tool. Each blank page here carries an empty content stream, so it passes through the rest of the site.
