Questions about Insert blank pages
- Why does the blank page match its neighbor instead of being A4?
- Because a fixed A4 insert is the classic mistake. In a legal, A3 or custom-sized document, one page of a different size makes the printer scale the whole job to fit, and the finished stack no longer matches the original. Taking the size from the page before removes that whole problem.
- Why would I want a blank page after every page?
- Double-sided printing. A single-sided original printed two-sided ends up with unrelated pages sharing a sheet; a blank after each one keeps every original page on its own sheet front. It is also how you leave a facing page for notes.
- Do the blank pages work with your other tools?
- Yes, and that was a deliberate fix. A truly empty page is valid PDF but many tools cannot handle it — ours used to crash when such a document reached the long-page tool. Each blank page here carries an empty content stream, so it passes through the rest of the site.
