How to do it

  1. 1

    Add your file

Add the PDF whose page size is wrong for where it is going — A4 when the recipient needs Letter, or a document laid out at some size no printer expects.

  2. 2

Set it up the way you want

Choose the target size. The content is scaled to fit rather than cropped, so nothing at the edges is cut off.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Download the resized file. It prints on standard paper without the driver making its own decisions about scaling.

Questions about Resize PDF

A4 or Letter — does it really matter?
It does when someone else is printing. They differ by a few millimetres in each direction, which is enough that a printer either scales your page slightly or trims an edge. US court e-filing specifically requires Letter, and anything else needs its own motion.
Will the content get distorted?
No. The page is scaled proportionally and centred, so text and images keep their shape. Where the aspect ratios differ, you get a slightly wider margin rather than stretched type.
Does this change the amount of text on a page?
No. A PDF does not reflow, so the same words stay on the same pages, just at a slightly different size. If you need the text to reflow, convert to Word instead.
