Turnitin accepts files under 100 MB and 800 pages. Theses and portfolios full of figures are the ones that hit it. The target is set to 95 MB; lower it if your course sets a smaller limit.

Before you upload to Turnitin
- A scanned PDF needs readable text to be checked. Run OCR first if the file is only images.
- Many universities set their own, smaller upload limit in the course page. Use that number as the target.
- Compress a copy, not your master file: keep the full-quality version for printing and binding.

Compression shrinks images. A long file that is mostly text can stay above the limit; these get it through.
